Visions and Standards

Vision of the Royal Falcon Bahá’í School
The Royal Falcon Bahá’í School hopes to evolve into a powerful centre of Bahá’í learning by systematically widening its scope, raising its standard, both intellectual and spiritual and developing into an effective, and increasingly vital, instrument for the propagation of the Faith.

Mission of the Royal Falcon Bahá’í School
The Royal Falcon Bahá’í School, as a tool for bringing to light hitherto unsuspected capacities among the friends and strengthening the unity of the Cause, aims for each participant, believer and non-believer alike, adult, youth and child, to deepen his or her love for the Faith and knowledge of its teachings.

This it hopes to accomplish by:

  1. Providing training in the history, principles and teachings of the Cause and the applications to one’s life of the principles of moral conduct,
  2. Relating problems in the world to their wider aspect and thus lifting them, and the participants, to a broader vision,
  3. Fostering the spirit of fellowship in a distinctly Bahá’í atmosphere, and
  4. Heightening the prestige of the school in the eyes of the friends and of the general public.

Standards
Since the purpose of the Bahá’í School is spiritual education, obedience to the rules is expected by everyone in order to maintain an orderly school environment and to preserve and enhance unity. The Bahá’í School Committee has the expectation of courtesy, modesty and cleanliness, and will firmly enforce that standard.

In order to maintain a spiritually invigorating, happy, and safe atmosphere and to create a distinctive Bahá’í environment, these standards have been set which all participants, as well as visitors to our school, are expected to uphold. This includes respecting Bahá’í laws, including refraining from backbiting, having no alcohol or recreational drugs, following Bahá’í standards of chastity (refer to Advent of Divine Justice, p. 25), and practicing attributes such as courtesy and trustworthiness. Working together in a positive and cooperative manner helps provide an enriching experience for all. We are so happy you are here, and we hope you have a memorable stay and will return again.

Class Attendance
Everyone is expected to attend scheduled classes at Bahá’í School. All classes for adults, youth, junior youth, and children are at the Beachside Conference Center.

Child Supervision
Parents or sponsors are responsible for ensuring that their children attend all classes at school. For their safety and well-being, children under age 12 must be under the direct supervision of their parent (or adult designated by the parent) during meal times, free times, and evenings, unless participating in an organized school activity. This is especially important if children are involved in swimming or other active sports. Pre-youth and youth may be considered responsible for themselves, but parents or sponsors should know their whereabouts and planned activities at all times.

Meals
All meals will be served at the hotel. YOU MUST BE WEARING YOUR NAME TAG TO BE SERVED FOR ALL MEALS.

Dress Code
Modest dress in accordance with Baha’i standards is required. Do not wear clothing with inappropriate slogans.

Closed Campus
The purpose of a closed campus is to minimize the distractions and outside influences that would inevitably occur when traffic in and out of the school is unlimited. If you must leave the school (the hotel or the beach area), please inform one of the security persons or a committee member. It is important for the staff to know the whereabouts of everyone in attendance at the school for safety reasons.

Curfew
Curfew is at midnight, when ALL participants of the school are expected to be in their own rooms and remain there throughout the night.
